Shoojit Sircar directed, Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Gulabo Sitabo released today on Amazon Prime. One of the anticipated movies of 2020 finally got released on an OTT platform amidst the situation. The film is being liked by the audience and critics.
‘Gulaabo-Sitaabo’ released as a treat to all movie buffs. While the film is garnering views and positive response across the internet, director Shoojit Sircar divulge an incident on where he approached Ayushmann for the film. Director Shoojit Sircar revealed that Ayushmann was always the first choice for the film but he broke the news to him at Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s wedding reception.
In his recent conversation with Zoom Digital, director Shoojit Sircar said, “Yes, he (Ayushmann) was the first choice but before that, we debated a lot. His casting was done later. First was Mr Bachchan’s casting and then I remember I think I broke the news to him, I remember it was…Deepika Padukone’s reception (laughs). So at that reception, I gave him the basic narration, I remember. And you know that’s when we agreed (to do the film). He was excited, he was jumping since then. So, I think we first bounced the idea to him at their reception. Suddenly mere ko yaad aa raha hai. I think you are the first one I am telling this. So, that’s when I told him the idea.”
‘Gulabo-Sitabo’ is the second collaboration of the Director-actor Duo. Ayushmann made his debut with ‘Vicky Donor’ which was directed by Shoojit Sircar. Shoojit Sircar is currently working on Vicky Kaushal starrer, ‘Udham Singh’ while Ayushmann Khurrana was previously seen in ‘Subh Mangal Zyda Saavdhan’
