Nora Fatehi rose to prominence after appearing on Bigg Boss and is now a global household name. The actress, who recently received attention for her performance in the film ‘Madgaon Express,’ commented on her difficult time in Mumbai during her early years.

In a recent chat with Masheable, Nora said that she arrived in India with only 5000 rupees and had no idea what a 1000-dollar bill looked like. She described living in a 3BHK flat with nine other girls and sharing a bedroom with two of them. Nora labelled her housemates as ‘psychopaths’ and revealed that memories of those days still haunt her, stating, ”I lived with nine psychopaths in a three BHK apartment where I shared the room with two other girls. During my stay there, I used to think, ‘What have I got myself into?’ I am still traumatised.”

Nora also emphasised the abuse of newbies in the profession by agencies, describing instances where her agency withdrew considerable amounts in the name of commissions, leaving her with meagre pay. She revealed that she survived on an egg and bread diet during the time.

Nora had highlighted similar concerns in 2019, admitting that she only earned 3000 rupees per week to support herself. She characterised it as a ‘difficult phase’ but said she managed to get through the week intelligently.

On the work front, Nora has been linked with successful productions such as Stree, ABCD, Satyameva Jayate, Batla House, and Rocky Handsome, but her recent part in Kunal Kemmu’s directorial endeavour, ‘Madgaon Express,’ has received significant praise.
