After their historic victory in the Tokyo Olympics 2020 this morning, the Indian Men’s Hockey Team made history. By defeating Germany, the squad earned a bronze medal, which came after a 41-year wait. As the entire country is in a joyful mood, greetings are flowing in from all directions. Celebrities from Bollywood are also praising the Men’s Hockey Team on social media. Farhan Akhtar’s gaffe in applauding the team, on the other hand, has moved the emphasis of the internet, and he is now being mocked.
Previously, Farhan Akhtar congratulated the team on their triumph on his Twitter account. He cheered for the Indian Women’s Hockey Team instead of the Indian Men’s Hockey Team but now he has deleted his post after being trolled by netizens. He penned on the post, “Go Girls!!! So proud of #teamIndia for showing exemplary fighting spirit and bringing in our 4th medal..super stuff. #Tokyo2020 #Hockey.”
Farhan Akhtar realised his error minutes after tweeting and immediately removed the tweet. Netizens who identified a topic for their meme fest, however, will not be fooled.
