Prior to India’s Independence Day, Bollywood actress Kiara Advani visited the Attari Wagah Border in Punjab. Several images and videos of her waving the Indian tricolour have since gone popular online. The actress, who appeared to be having trouble waving the flag properly and even posed for several photos with it, appears to have irked online users.
Kiara travelled to Amritsar and waved the Indian tricolour alongside Indian soldiers. In addition, she talked to them about their experiences and was spotted enjoying herself in the city.
In a video that is currently making the rounds on the internet, Kiara can be seen attempting to wave the tricolour but failing repeatedly.
Kiara is seen in the video sporting a laid-back pastel green and white salwar suit.
She was then given the tricolour by the troops, who even attempted to show her how to properly wave it while she struggled to do so. After several unsuccessful tries, Kiara finally succeeded in waving the flag while posing for the cameras, however the entire scenario has not been warmly received by online users.
“The national flag is pride of India, please don’t insult it by making it a prop for your photoshoot!!” a user commented, while another wrote, “Have never seen a dubber like her .. she can’t even wave our flag … sirf photo shot ke liye pose kar rahe hai.”
A user also pointed out, “She should be standing in attention while holding the national flag. But she is posing”.
Kiara has a lot on her plate at work, as she is working on several different projects at once.
She most recently worked with Kartik Aaryan on the movie “Satyaprem Ki Katha,” which was their second project together. Their performances were adored by the general public, and the movie became a success at the box office.
The next time we see Kiara on screen, it will be in the next movie “Game Changer,” alongside South Indian superstar Ram Charan. In addition to Srikanth, Naveen Chandra, SJ Suryah, and others, it is directed by S Shankar.
