Sushant Singh Rajput‘s case is now getting more and more twisted as the hour passes by. A drug cartel was also revealed during the investigation of the case by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which marked the entry of the Narcotics Control Bureau in the case. So far, Rhea Chakraborty and her brother, Showik, has been arrested for allegedly procuring the drugs. The Sister-Brother duo had applied for bail which was rejected by session courts as well as magistrate courts. Later on, they applied for bail in Bombay High Court, and it has been reported that the hearing for bail plea will be done today. However, as per the reports, NCB has filed an affidavit against their bail plea.
In the affidavit by NCB, they have stated that Rhea and Showik are a part of the drug cartel of Bollywood as they have connections to the high profiled drug peddler. NCB has also claimed in the affidavit that the accused actress used to store drugs at her place. According to Indian Express, NCB has submitted an 18-page affidavit which states that Rhea was involved in the finances of the drug trafficking and she was also aware of Sushant Singh Rajput’s habit of taking drugs and yet she entertained this habit. A part of the affidavit read, “She also stored drugs at her residence and allowed Sushant to consume it.”
The Zonal Director of NCB, Sameer Wankhede has filed two affidavits in the Bombay High Court saying, “Electronic evidence such as WhatsApp chats, records were retrieved from mobile, laptop and hard-disk and it indicates the payments made for drugs. Therefore, there is enough evidence to show present applicant Rhea has not only regularly dealt with but also financed illicit trafficking of drugs.”
