Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah was suffering from pneumonia. He was admitted to PD Hinduja hospital when a small patch was found in his lungs. The actor’s secretary updated PTI about his health and said that he is likely to be discharged tomorrow.
“He is doing well. He might be discharged tomorrow,” Naseeruddin Shah’s secretary Jairaj told PTI. The actor’s wife, Ratna Pathak Shah, revealed his health condition to PTI on Wednesday.
His secretary had also revealed to a leading daily newspaper, “He has been in the hospital for two days. He’s under medical supervision. He was brought in for Pneumonia. There was a patch found in his lungs and it became necessary for him to be hospitalized immediately. His condition is stable and he’s responding well to the treatment.”
Veteran actor, Naseeruddin Shah has been a prominent name in the Indian film industry. He is an alumnus of two prestigious acting institutes in India, NSD and FTII. The actor has given some of his best performances in movies like Masoom, Ijaazat, Nishant, Mirch Masala, Jaane Bhi do yaaro and several others. He has contributed a lot to India’s parallel cinema in the 80s and 90s.
He has also aced his roles in many of the commercial movies like Mohra, The Dirty Picture, Ishqiya, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, and many others. The 70-year-old actor has also entered the OTT industry. He was recently seen in the Amazon Prime web series, Bandish Bandits, where he played a prominent role of an Indian classical singer. The actor will be next seen in the movie, Marrich, starring Tusshar Kapoor and Anita Hassanandani.
