Mumbai Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Varun Dhawan urges voters to turn out in record numbers

Varun Dhawan, a Bollywood star, voted in Mumbai on Monday during the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections. He was joined by his father, filmmaker David Dhawan, and after voting, he noted that his father pushes him to vote “every year.”

Varun and David can be seen going out of the Juhu voting station after casting their votes, according to an exclusive video obtained by the Free Press Journal. He can be seen urging journalists that it is critical that they utilise their right to vote.

“My father encourages me every year that we must come and vote. He is a senior citizen, and we are just following in his footsteps,” he stated.

 

He also expressed concern over the city’s voter percentage, saying, “Hopefully, the voter percentage increases from next year.”

As voting for the Lok Sabha elections began in Mumbai on Monday morning, a host of celebrities went out to vote and, in an effort to inspire their fans, flaunted their inked fingers at the cameras. Akshay Kumar, Janhvi Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Farhan Akhtar, Shahid Kapoor, and others were among the first to vote for the candidate of their choice.

Dharmendra, Suniel Shetty, Gulzar, Boney Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, Emraan Hashmi, Shriya Saran, Shobha Khote, and others were also seen stepping out into the city to exercise their right to vote and choose their candidate.

Also, Salman Khan and Kiara Advani were seen closing up their work commitments and returning to Mumbai in the early hours of Monday to vote and ensure that their leader was chosen. Celebrities also encouraged their fans by posting messages on their social media accounts.
