Well, Monali Thakur, who is famously known for her sweet soulful voice, recently revealed that she got married to boyfriend Maik Richter back in 2017 in a close ceremony in the presence of few friends and family.
Revealing the big news, Monali said to a media outlet, “I haven’t made it official anywhere on social media yet, but people had already guessed it. A couple of times when my ring was mistakenly visible in my Instagram photos, a lot of people commented asking if it was my wedding ring. That said, Maik and I have successfully been able to hide our marriage for three years!”

Monali is currently in Switzerland with Maik and his family and according to reports she discloses that it’s because they never had a conventional wedding ceremony, they never announced their engagement publicly and had been on a lookout for an appropriate occasion to get married. She said, “The news of my marriage will come as a shock to many as none of my industry friends were aware or invited. We kept delaying the ceremony and announcement and three years just passed by.”
Revisiting the memories of 2017, she also revealed that the ceremony didn’t happen on the day it was supposed to. “He thought that he would get a Visa on arrival here, because he had read it somewhere on the Internet. So he was almost thrown out of the country. The day we were supposed to get married, he was kept at the airport like a kaidi. But then the Indian government helped a lot. They made sure that we got married on the day we were supposed to.”
This recent revelation comes after the release of Monali’s music video ‘Dil Ka Fitoor’, which features the beautiful couple. She affirmed that Maik was not the initial choice for this video. “Initially, there was a German model that was supposed to feature alongside me. But then my team felt that the chemistry might not be there or might not be as good as they’d want. So, I told Maik, he was going to feature in the video with me. Acha hai na! Paisa bhai bach gaya,” she jokes, as stated by media reports.
