Ever since Sushant Singh’s suicide has taken place the whole nation is talking about nepotism and how Bollywood treats the outsiders in this industry. From actors, directors, singers, and also the faded actors are talking about the treatment of the industry. Bollywood celebrities are constantly being slammed by the netizens. People are calling out the biggies and demanding to boycott the star kids. Nepotism and hypocrisy debates are trending all over social media. While some stepped in to reveal the dark secrets of Bollywood, others came in to defend their close friends or children.
The whole nation is being vocal about the nepotism culture which is going on in Bollywood for decades. But after seeing this doesn’t it reminds us of #MeToo controversy which sparked debate in Bollywood after actress Tanushree Dutta decided to speak up once against actor Nana Patekar in 2018. What began as one woman’s story soon became a phenomenon when the names of powerful men in the country started surfacing. From actor Alok Nath to journalist MJ Akbar, the movement has brought to light many stories of sexual harassment and abuse.
One of the cases which got on headlines was also of former Miss India and actor Niharika Singh. The actress opened up about her #MeToo experience where she accused Nawazuddin Siddiqui of sexually assaulting her. The story basically came out by journalist Sandhya Menon who tweeted Niharika Singh’s MeToo story document on 9th November 2018. Apart from Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Niharika Singh also wrote about the comments and ill-treatment she had to take from Bollywood film producer Bhushan Kumar and Sajid Khan. Sajid Khan has earlier been accused of sexual harassment by various women in the industry and was finally dropped out of his position from the film he was working on.
After winning the title of ‘Miss India’ in a beauty pageant in 2005, her journey in Bollywood was no less than a slippery slope. The actress recalled her time when Nawazuddin Siddiqui, her ex-boyfriend harassed her emotionally, mentally, and physically for multiple times. She even pointed out the fake stories that his autobiography contained and that he had to withdraw the book after legal complaints were filed against him and the editor for not fact-checking. Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s dark side came after these allegations by the actress.
Here is the tweet which actress posted on November 9, 2018

The actress also spoke about Nawaz engaging himself with multiple women at the same time. She immediately cut all contacts that she had with him when she got to know about this.
The question arises here is when will stars start speaking about their struggles. Why do they wait for any serious incident to taken place and then come forward?
