When it comes to the movie industry, an actor’s popularity with the masses is frequently a measure of their star quality. Such stardom is often evaluated by the kind of figures that they return on box office, which are thought to be more or less directly proportional to one’s fame. Few stars have maintained their shine regardless of how many films they fail to make hit. This was evident only the other day, when one famous actor was having some personal issues, yet managed to seal about twelve movie deals.
In 1991 he landed his first movie “Saugandh” which was a success. He went on to star Nyaydaata (1999) Khiladi 420 (2000), Andaz (2003), and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. He has been considered as a versatile actor who has starred in various films that were either action or comedy at different times within his twenty-four year long career also acclaimed by some critics as “King of Action”.
Within the last three years, Akshay has spotted seven flops involving; Bachchan Pandey, Prithviraj Samrat, Rakshabandan, Ram Setu, Selfiee and Mission Raniganj, as well as Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. It thus led to Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Samrat Prithviraj being listed as some of the most expensive failures ever made in Indian film history. Additionally, industry experts believe that these seven movies together lost approximately Rs 800 crores through ticket sales.
Although Akshay Kumar’s signing flops in the cinemas, this does not deter his shine. This is due to the fact that even amid the flops, the actor manages to deliver blockbusters such as Sooryavanshi and OMG 2 among others during this time. Nevertheless, he still has ten releases planned for the next two years kicking off with Sarfira, a Hindi version of Soorarai Pottru. For instance, the forthcoming releases include Singham Again starring Akshay Kumar; after this he is scheduled to act Sky Force and Khel Mein.
The actor is set to reprise his famous characters in three separate franchises in 2025 when he appears in Hera Pheri 3; Jolly LLB 3; and Welcome to the Jungle. He will also be featured on Kannappa- Telugu cinema for the first time and will also play a minor role as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Marathi cinema called Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat.
