Still, this stunning woman, who starred in the most successful picture of the year, faded away from the screen, was left by her husband, cheated on by her sister, and had to fight for each cent.
She was born on December 24, 1954 in a film iconographic family in Pakistan, started working in Pakistani films and television at a young age. However, Huma always loved and had begun her Bollywood career in 1981 with Aapas Ki Baat followed by Aaj Kaa MLA, Sharaabi and Hum Hai Lajawab Andar Bahaar. Huma got her break by the film ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ which was starring Salman Khan after working for a year.
In the blockbuster romantic drama, Huma got the opportunity to portray a character named Gulabiya and her bond with Laxmikant Bedre was much loved among the audiences. However, in 1992, during her active years in the Bollywood industry, Huma Khan married her neighbour, and the lady quit working in films for her married life. However, many years later, he decided to travel to the ‘advanced’ country leaving her alone in embarrassments.
Some years later she discovered that her husband had married her sister and the two had taken all the money she had earned in her lifetime thus making her poor to the extent that the man almost killed her. As documented, Huma began appearing in B-grade, and C-grade films in India’s expensive city, Mumbai just to make a living. But still she was trying her best in fight Salman Khan, who was her co-star in Maine Pyar Kiya and Hum Saath-Saath Hain gave her financial help.
Huma in an interview to Viral Bollywood site revealed that Salman Khan supported her both financially and legally and he saved her in the worst phase of his life and career. At present Huma resides in 1RK and Salman manages her expenses on monthly basis.
