The Archies by Zoya Akhtar debuted on Netflix earlier this month to a mixed reception. Actor Manoj Bajapayee has now openly disclosed in an interview with Zoom that he watched the movie for his daughter Ava and told her he didn’t enjoy it.
Manoj Bajpayee stated in a Zoom interview that he informed Ava how he felt about The Archies after seeing the first fifty minutes and was shocked to hear that even she didn’t enjoy it. He declared, “My daughter was watching The Archies, and I told her, ‘I am not liking it.’ She was like, ‘Okay’ and by then I had watched it for 50 minutes. Archies is not a part of my growing up years. My growing-up years included Motu Patlu and Ram Balram. I might have read maybe just one book of Archies, and I remember Veronica and Betty. But, she was also not liking it.”
The actor went on to say that he had instructed his daughter that she needed to speak Hindi like the characters in the movie while he was watching The Archies. This did not sit well with Ava, and Manoj disclosed that he received a warning for bothering her throughout the movie. Additionally, she let her father know that they don’t spend enough time together. Manoj went on, “You are not giving family time, papa,” she said. “Every time I start scolding her, she scolds me in return.”
The Archies:
The Archies, a coming-of-age musical by Zoya Akhtar, chronicles the lives of seven pals who reside in the made-up hilltop town of Riverdale. Seven new names in the industry made their debuts at that time. Among them were the late Sridevi’s younger daughter, Khushi Kapoor, grandson of Amitabh Bachchan, Agastya Nanda, and Suhana Khan, daughter of Shah Rukh Khan.
In the meantime, Manoj Bajpayee’s most recent film was Joram, which Devashish Makhija directed and came out on December 8. In addition, he received outstanding reviews for his performance in the May 23 release of Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai. Prior to that, the actor starred in Gulmohar, which was released in March of this year, with seasoned performer Sharmila Tagore.
