Malaika Arora has issued first ever statement after the passing away of his father, Anil Mehta. The Bollywood star took it to her Instagram handle to share a note post which also featured his father’s smiling photo.
“We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our dear father, Anil Mehta. He was a gentle soul, a devoted grandfather, a loving husband, and our best friend,” read her post.
During the early morning hours of Wednesday, Anil attempted suicide by jumping off his terrace at his building in Bandra, as per the police officials.
The statement by Malla further requested for “privacy from media and well – wishers during this difficult time.” It was signed by Malaika, her sister Amrita Arora, mother Joyce, Amrita’s husband Shakeel, and Malla’s son Arhaan, among others.
