Maisie Williams, who rose to fame by playing Arya Stark in popular HBO fantasy drama Game Of Thrones, said that along with the worldwide riches, the role also brought darker side for her as a young person.
The British actor, who was first casted for the role at the age of twelve, told The Times of London she found pressure overwhelming.
“I was so lost for so long and I knew that I was, and when I couldn’t pin down what I felt my identity was with that, it brough me a lot of discomfort,” she stated. Maisie further added that things have now been easier as she feels comfortable in her own skin.
The actress bagged the role of Arya by beating 300 other girls who had auditioned for it. She said that she learned her trade on set by watching older, more experienced colleagues.
“Charles Dance was a standout for Game of Thrones. I admired watching him rehearse, and the things that he and director talked about.”
Meanwhile, the actress is currently playing Catherine Dior, the sister of the fashion designer and a member of the French resistance, in The New Look now streaming on Apple TV+.
