Madhur Bhandarkar accuses Karan Johar over the title ‘Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives’; says the title “Bollywood Wives” belongs to him

Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar has accused Karan Johar of stealing his title ‘Bollywood Wives’ for ‘Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives’.

A controversy has sparked out between filmmakers Karan Johar and Madhur Bhandarkar over the title of their respective projects. Bhandarkar has asked Johar to change the name of his upcoming Netflix show’s title ‘Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives’.

Bhandarkar recently put out a tweet wherein he has claimed that he originally came up with the title ‘Bollywood Wives’ for his upcoming project. He said that Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta asked him for the title, but when he refused to give it, they tweaked it and made it ‘Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives’.

The tweet reads, “Dear @karanjohar U & @apoorvamehta18 had asked me 4 the title #BollywoodWives for web,which I refused,as my project is underway. It is Morally & ethically wrong u to tweak it to #TheFabulousLivesofBollywoodWives. Pls do not dent my project. I humbly request u to change the title.”

Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives revolves around the everyday lives of the wives of four Bollywood celebrities- Seema Khan (wife of Sohail Khan), Maheep Kapoor (wife of Sanjay Kapoor), Bhavana Panday (wife of Chunky Panday), and Neelam Kothari Soni (wife of Samir Soni). The show also has a special appearance by Gauri Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. The show will be streaming on Netflix from 27th November 2020.
