Lin Laishram appreciates Priyanka Chopra’s acceptance of the lack of mixed casting in ‘Mary Kom’

Lin Laishram acknowledged Priyanka Chopra’s thought on diverse casting.

Actress Lin Laishram is known for her performance in the film ‘Axone’ which has won people’s hearts. Lin is an international model and actress who is originally from Manipur. She applauded Priyanka Chopra Jonas for admitting the lack of diverse casting in her film ‘Mary Kom’ in 2014.

In the interview with Vanity Fair, Priyanka Chopra Jonas wholly agreed and remarked that someone from the northeast should have played Mary Kom: “I look nothing like her,” she had told.

This confession was appreciated by the actress Lin Laishram who shares the same thoughts on this matter. Lin said in a recent interview, “It’s really gracious and brave of Priyanka to finally accept this and put it out there. My admiration for her has only grown immensely. Inclusivity I feel is very hard to understand unless you are excluded.” says Lin Laishram.

It seems like merit and verisimilitude is being recognised and the respect that it deserves. The OTT is attaining a significant role and Lin is thankful for that and welcomes the change that is happening and she is looking forward to good work coming her way.

The film ‘Mary Kom’ was driven by Omung Kumar, the movie is based on the life story of a boxer from Manipur who has won several honours for the country India.
