Arvind Kumar, best known for his role as Chaurasia in Lapataganj, died on July 11 after having a heart attack. Actor Rohitashv Gour, who portrayed the lead in the sitcom, announced his death.

According to accounts, Arvind was on his way to a shoot when he was attacked and was taken to a nearby hospital.

Meanwhile, Rohitashv told a news website that Arvind was anxious because of his financial situation.

“He used to talk to me about it because after the pandemic, things became very difficult for actors and he was also struggling. No one comes forth to help actors in such tough times. Stress is what causes heart attacks. His family was in the village so I never spoke to them or met them,” the actor said.

Rohitashv further mentioned that he and several of his pals intend to financially support Arvind’s family.

Lapataganj aired from 2009 to 2014 and was about the residents of a tiny town. Arvind Kumar was most recently seen in the daily soap Kahe Diya Pardes, where he played Chaube Mama.
