KWK 8: Jahnvi Kapoor recalls the devastating moment while mother, Sri Devi passed away

Season 8 episode 11 of Koffee With Karan: After their mother passed away, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor turned to one another for comfort and strength.

The latest episode of Koffee With Karan aired on Disney+ Hotstar, featuring the sisters Jahnvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor. The episode took an unexpected yet emotional turn when Janhvi Kapoor shared what occurred to her when she first learned about her mother Sridevi’s passing. She revealed that it was Khushi, her younger sister, who stood behind her like a rock.

She relived the moment and informed Karan Johar, the show host, “When I got the call, I was in my room, and I could hear wailing from Khushi’s room. I think I barged into her room, hauling and crying, but what I do remember is she looked at me, and the minute she looked at me, she just stopped crying. She just sat next to me and started comforting me, and I’ve never seen her cry about it since.”

Speaking from her own viewpoint, Khushi revealed, “I felt like I had to hold it together for everyone because I feel like I’ve always been the strong one.”

2018 saw Sridevi pass away in Dubai as she was there to witness her husband, Boney Kapoor’s nephew Arjun Marwah, get married. It was discovered that her accidental drowning was the cause of her death.

Janhvi also discussed how Khushi and Sridevi were similar. She said, “She is very quiet person, and I think that is one thing she has in common with Mumma. But in front of the camera, she just explodes.”

While Khushi’s cinematic debut came with Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies last year, Janhvi made her acting debut with Dhadak in 2018. With the recent film Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar, which co-stars Shraddha Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor, Boney made his acting debut.
