Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide on June 14 in his Bandra house. The actor’s untimely demise left everyone in shock and grief. After the news of his tragic demise broke on the social media, his fans and colleagues flooded the social media with mourning posts. Many of his co-stars and friends, Kriti Sanon, Shraddha Kapoor, Rhea Chakraborty, Rajkummar Rao, Varun Sharma and many more attended his last rites.

In an interview with Tadka Bollywood, Sushant’s father revealed that Kriti was the only one who paid her condolences to the late actor’s father personally. Others were standing distant from each other because of coronavirus. When asked who all came to pay their tributes and condolences during his 3-day-stay in Mumbai, the grieving father said that no one had come to meet him at Sushant’s residence apart from Ankita Lokhande.

Recalling the people who attended Sushant’s cremation, he said, “Aaye toh bohot log the lekin humse sirf Kriti Sanon mili thi, ha wo baith ke baat kiya. Hum toh baat nahi kiya, wo jo bol rahi thi hum sunte gaye. Aaye sablog aaye, par Corona ke chalte sab dur hi the. Kyuki muh pe mask tha toh hum kisiko pehechane nahi (A lot of people came to attend the cremation, but only Kriti Sanon approached me, she was talking to me, but I didn’t reply. Everybody came but because of corona they maintained distance. I couldn’t recognise anyone because everybody was wearing masks).”

He added, “Kriti Sanon bagal mein baithi thi na aur kisine bataya toh malum hua ki…par wo thi ya nahi thi wo malum nahi ha par ek smart ladki thi aur bol rahi thi ki pyaara ladka tha, yehi sab baat hai. (Kriti Sanon was sitting next to me and when someone told me I got to know…But I don’t know for sure. But she was a smart lady and repeatedly told me that Sushant was a nice person, nothing else).”

According to the reports, Kriti and Sushant soon after co-starring in Raabta were said to be dating. The actress, who was also close friends with Sushant, penned down a heartfelt note for him on her social media handle along with their photograph. The note read, “Sush.. I knew that your brilliant mind was your best friend and your worst enemy.. but it has broken me completely to know that you had a moment in your life where Dying felt easier or better than Living. I so wish you had people around you to get you past THAT moment, i wish you hadn’t pushed the ones who loved you away.. i wish i could have fixed that something which was broken inside you..I couldn’t.. I wish so so many things….A part of my heart has gone with you.. and a part will always keep you alive.. Never stopped praying for your happiness and never will..”
