In a recent YouTube video, Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon addressed the rumours surrounding her newly founded production company, Blue Butterfly, and late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
The suspicions spread after netizens spotted Sushant’s frequent use of blue butterflies in the descriptions of his Instagram pictures. Kriti has now come forward to shed light on the situation and reveal the true meaning of the name.
In the video, Kriti, who rose to prominence with her debut film ‘Heropanti’ in 2014, highlighted her love for butterflies and the colour blue. She emphasised that the importance of blue butterflies in her life extends beyond aesthetics.
Blue, in her opinion, represents dreams, wings, flight, freedom, liberal values, positivism, and happiness. She sees a butterfly’s development from caterpillar to cocoon to beautiful creature as a metaphor for personal growth and transformation.
“It is a slow steady process of becoming the most beautiful version of yourself, just like a butterfly. My life and journey have been like that—learning everything on the job, slowly evolving into the person I am today. We all have struggles, but through them, we move, grow, and change. Eventually, we find the best and most beautiful version of ourselves, and then we fly. That’s why it is Blue Butterfly,” Kriti explained.
Kriti and Sushant had previously collaborated on the film ‘Raabta,’ and the actress recalls him warmly after his sad death in 2020. Blue Butterfly, on the other hand, has a deeper personal meaning for Kriti and depicts her own path of self-discovery and progress.
While many assumed that the moniker Blue Butterfly was inspired by Sushant Singh Rajput, Kriti clarified that the connection was simply coincidental.
Kriti Sanon’s production company aspires to provide audiences new and intriguing stories. Her first project under the label, “Do Patti,” is already generating buzz among fans and industry insiders.
