Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhtora took the internet by storm as they announced their first pregnancy. Soon after the announcement was made, congratulatory messages came in from Bollywood celebrities including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Neha Dhupia, Rakul Preet Singh, and many more. Amidst all the buzz, a throwback interview of Sidharth has been making rounds online, wherein he reveals the reason over why he wants to get married.
Back in 2016, during an interview with DNA India, the actor was asked about his marriage plan, to which he responded by admitted his belief in the institution of marriage. He mentioned that growing up in a middle class family, he has seen the joint families, and he loved that energy.
“But in today’s day and age, marriage has become just a tagline. I think I will only get married when I want to have babies. I think otherwise, it would be unfair to the child to not give him/her a name. Till then, it doesn’t matter. You can be with whoever you want to. Marriage is just a technicality, it doesn’t change your love for that person,” he further added.
Sidharth and Kiara started dating after meeting on the sets of Shershaah, released in 2021. The couple tied the knot in February 2023. And nearly two years after their marriage, they are expecting their first ever child together. With an adorable post on Instagram, the couple wrote, “The greatest gift of our lives. Coming soon.”
