Kate Middleton for King Charles III coronation: Here’s everything you need to know about her glamorous outfit including headpiece

The Princess of Wales was glowing at her father-in-law King Charles’ coronation ceremony.

At the coronation of King Charles on Saturday at Westminster Abbey, Kate Middleton shone in a stunning headpiece. According to People magazine1, the Princess of Wales wore a Jess Collett x Alexander McQueen headpiece. Princess Charlotte, her daughter, wore a headpiece that matched her mother’s.

The Princess of Wales wore an ensemble by Alexander McQueen, who also designed her wedding dress from 2011, that was made of ivory silk crepe and embroidered with silver bullion and patterns of roses, thistles, daffodils and shamrocks. Kate shined in pearl and diamond earrings that belonged to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana. She also donned some magnificent jewellery.

All three of the couple’s children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—as well as Kate’s husband, Prince William, attended the coronation ceremony. George was one of Charles’ four Pages of Honour, which gave him a unique position on his grandfather’s special day.

In a dress and cape by Alexander McQueen with ivory satin stitch embroidery that featured rose, thistle, daffodil, and shamrock patterns (to represent the four nations of the U.K.), Princess Charlotte mirrored her mother’s style. The young royal also donned a headgear designed by Jess Collett and Alexander McQueen that resembled Kate’s.

Since she succeeded Queen Elizabeth as Princess of Wales in September 2022, Kate has dabbled with some more daring looks. Fashion insiders are praising Kate for her stylish new look, which includes opera gloves at the BAFTA Awards and striking accessories like a neon green gown at the Earthshot Prize and a red power pantsuit during her Shaping Us campaign launch.

“I think this is her power moment — she’s easing into the Princess of Wales role and that promotion she’s had in such a beautiful way,” Bethan Holt, fashion director for the Daily Telegraph, told PEOPLE. She has a significant new title, and she is dressed appropriately.
