After decades of being estranged Kate Hudson revealed that there is an optimistic forward with her father Bill Hudson.
During a sneak preview of her Sunday interview on CBS News Sunday Morning, the actress acknowledge that she doesn’t have a relationship with her father, but also hinted that there is more to the story.
“It’s warming up,” Kate told Tracy Smith in a clip released Friday. “There’s warming up of this all happening. It will be whatever it will be.”
Bill, who is best known for being the founding members of musical group, The Hudson Brothers, married Goldie Hawn in 1976, with whom he shares Kate. The couple also share the actress’ older brother Oliver Hudson, who was born two months after they got married.
Kate insisted that she had no expectations of being reconciled with her father, but she just wants “him to be happy.”
Goldie filed for divorce from Bill in 1980 and was finalized two years later. She began dating Kurt Russell in 1983 and while the two were never wed, he was responsible for the upbringing of Kate and Oliver.
During an interview on The Howard Stern Show in 2016, Kate opened up on her fractured family dynamic and shared that her father was around when they were young.
