Kareena Kapoor Khan is slated to make her big screen debut in Sujoy Ghosh’s adaptation of the Japanese novel Devotion Of Suspect X. While the directors have yet to provide any specifics about the film, it has been claimed that it will be titled Jaane Jaan.
According to Pinkvilla, the film would be released on Netflix on September 22, the day after Kareena’s birthday. The film’s trailer will be formally released on 5 September during an event in Mumbai. In the film, Kareena portrays the role of a single mother.
On August 24, the streaming service and Kareena released a lighthearted video in which the actress discusses her OTT debut. It shows some individuals pitching movie titles to Kareena, but she is not impressed with their suggestions. They also irritate her near the end of the video.
Kareena captioned the video on Instagram, “It’s a secret I can’t wait to tell.” Check out the video here:
Kareena will appear in the film opposite Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma. The romantic criminal thriller is based on the 2005 novel The Devotion of Suspect X by Japanese novelist Higashino Keigo.
The film began production in 2022 and was completed early this year. Several images of the actors from the film’s set had leaked online.
Meanwhile, Kareena was most recently seen as Rupa in Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha. Aside from Sujoy Ghosh’s film, she is working on The Crew opposite Kriti Sanon and Tabu.
Kareena has also taken on the role of producer for Hansal Mehta and Ektaa Kapoor’s upcoming film. She will also appear in the film.
