Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut gets some relief in the matter concerning her passport renewal. The Regional Passport Office (RPO) informed the Bombay High Court (HC) that after the actress makes the necessary corrections to her application, the procedure will be expediated.
The solicitor general stated that reasons for non-renewal of Kangana’s passport was because of the application has certain factual inconsistencies as well as the actress had pending criminal charges against her.
The FIR against her includes the one by writer Ashish Kaul who had filed a copyright infringement case against Kangana Ranaut for the film ‘Manikarnika Returns: The Legend of Didda’ and his lawyers stated that Kangana’s passport renewal was refused due to their case.
Speaking to the Economic Times, Kaul’s lawyers said, “Kangana Ranaut has filed for passport issuance and pleads that her passport is refused by authorities in view of the case by our client Ashish Kaul and another case both at the Bandra Magistrate Court. We have waived off notice and will be filing a detailed and comprehensive reply vehemently opposing any relief since she is yet to appear before the Police for a statement in this case and therefore investigation has been slow.”
Kangana is in dire need of a valid passport as she is gearing up for a schedule of her shoot in Budapest this month.
