Kangana Ranaut made her producing debut with the newly released film Tiku Weds Sheru, which went straight to OTT. The film’s major actors, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Avneet Kaur, have an age difference of nearly 30 years, which has caused a huge debate on social media.
Kangana has now broken her silence on the age gap rumours, revealing that Tiku Weds Sheru was originally planned to star Irrfan Khan alongside herself, with a 20-year age gap.
Kangana and Nawazuddin were chastised after the film showed the 49-year-old actor locking lips with 21-year-old Avneet.
Finally responding to all the discussion and criticism on the internet, Kangana took to her Instagram stories and wrote, “I was 16 when I started. It’s beter to start young if you looking at a film career, problem is if you play a flower on the wall, exploited just for youth and has no lines or role or opportunity given…”
She went on to criticise Bollywood once more, writing that the “mafia PR” tactics were ineffective.
Kangana also tweeted a photo with the late Irrfan Khan, writing that the two were meant to star in Tiku Weds Sheru earlier, despite their significant age difference.

Meanwhile, according to Twitter reviews, Tiku Weds Sheru, which debuted on Prime Video on June 23, has failed to wow the audience.
While viewers praised Avneet’s performance as a newbie, they described the picture as “directionless” and a “mess.”
