Speaking to InStyle, the Hollywood Superstar Jennifer Aniston went in full support of Britney Spears and female artists who faced media scrutiny in the 90s.
According to her, Mickey Mouse Club Stars were exposed to the limelight at a tender age which put their sanity at stake. She said, “The media took advantage of that, capitalized on them, and it ultimately cost them their sanity. It’s so heartbreaking. They were feeding on young, impressionable girls. Half of these kids started on ‘The Mickey Mouse Club.”
She mentioned the specific case of Britney Spears saying, ” I think that (Spears’s) group of girls as teens didn’t have any kind of ‘Who am I?’ They were being defined by this outside source.”She thanked her mother for not letting her getting carried away in such situations. She termed her mom as “strict” but now she acknowledged that her strictness made her remain in the industry for long. Jennifer explained,” I was lucky enough to be raised by a very strict mother. The priorities were not about becoming a famous person. It was, “Study your craft, learn what you’re doing, don’t just go out there and get lucky.”
Jennifer Aniston is best known for her performance in the TV Series, Friends as Rachel green. The TV Series went on to become one of the worldwide watched series. Even today people are tuned to any episode of Friends whenever they feel low. Her latest appearance was in the Friends: The Reunion On HBO with the whole cast of Friends recalling their favourite moments from the series.
