Javed Khan Amrohi passed at the age of 60 on February 14. For the past year veteran Bollywood actor has been bedridden and suffering from breathing problems.

A source told Times Now, “Javed Khan was admitted to Surya Nursing Home, Santacruz, where he breathed his last. His both lungs were failed. Today at 6.30 pm the supurde-e-khak ceremony will be performed at Oshiwara cemetary,” a source told times now.”

His performances in movies like Once Upon a Time in Mumbai, Chak De India, Lagaan, and Andaz Apna Apna made him well-known. His co-star in the film Lagaan, actor Akhilendra Mishra, verified the information to AajTak. He acknowledged communicating with him via the WhatsApp group for the Indian People’s Theatre Association. He also revealed that Javed had not been keeping well off late.

“We were connected through an IPTA WhatsApp group. I came to know of his death on the same. He stayed in Mumbai with his family. He was not well for some time. I had a long association with him. We started our careers at the same time. We did many films together. We were also part of shows through IPTA. I last met him at the IPTA festival. He was lively. I considered him to be a storehouse of knowledge.”

Amrohi has appeared in more than 150 films and a dozen of TV shows, he appeared in smaller yet pivotal roles. He was known for his work in several Bollywood films like Lagaan, Andaz Apna Apna, and Chak De! India, Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke, Laadla, and Ishq, among many others
