Janhvi Kapoor roped in for Rakyesh Omprakash’s period drama ‘Karna’, to cast opposite Suriya 

South superstar Suriya and filmmaker Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra have collaborated on an interesting project. They are in talks for the mythological feature drama on the life of the Mahabharata character Karna.

According to a report, it has been known that Janhvi Kapoor will be playing the leading female character in the film. She has been roped in for a significant role in the film.

The movie is being made on a heavy budget and will get a pan-India release. It will be divided into two parts and Suriya will be playing the role of Karna. The pre-production work of the film has already begun.

Meanwhile, Janhvi Kapoor is all set to make her Telugu debut with Devara. The film stars Jr NTR, Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi in key roles. Earlier, it was slated to release on the 5th of April, 2024. However, due to remaining VFX works and to obtain a better output, the film is now scheduled to be released in the latter half of 2024.

Janhvi Kapoor also has two other films lined up ahead Mr & Mrs Mahi and Ulajh.

On the other hand, Suriya has completed the shooting for Kanguva, which is directed by Siva. The film is going to be a huge period drama. The film is said to be the most expensive Tamil movie to be ever made and will be released in various languages overseas. The film also features Disha Patani and Bobby Deol, who are going to make their Tamil debut.

On Saturday, the makers of Kanguva revealed the first look of Bobby Deol from the film on his birthday. It was also unveiled that Bobby will embody the character Udhiran.
