Janhvi Kapoor has begun prepping for her upcoming flicks, including Mr and Mrs Mahi, co-starring Rajkummar Rao, following the success of her most recent movie, Good Luck Jerry. Janhvi, who will play a cricketer in the film, was spotted practising her skills on the pitch. Janhvi is shown in photographs circulating on the internet wearing a long white t-shirt, complete with a helmet, knee pads, gloves, and a bat in her hand.

Mr and Mrs Mahi is directed by Sharan Sharma, who made his directorial debut with Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl in 2020, which also starred Janhvi. It is also Janhvi and Rajkummar’s second venture following their horror-comedy flick Roohi.

Janhvi had previously posted a picture from her practice session for Mr and Mrs Mahi, in which she could be seen beaming after her practice. “Back to the grind #Mr&MrsMahi. (sic)” she said in the caption. The film’s tagline says, “No dream is ever chased alone,” and Rajkummar Rao and Kapoor will portray characters named Mahendra and Mahima, respectively. Janhvi spoke to Mid-Day about the gruelling six months of hard training she through to mimic the mannerisms of a cricketer. “It was a six-month process to get into the skin of the character and sync with the part,” she stated.

Janhvi was most recently featured in the film Good Luck Jerry, in which she portrays a middle-class girl who is forced to sell narcotics in order to pay for her mother’s treatment. She will soon appear in Mili with Sunny Kaushal and Bawaal alongside Varun Dhawan.
