Today would have marked producer Boney Kapoor and late actress Sridevi’s 24th marriage anniversary. Daughter Janhvi Kapoor took to her Instagram to wish her parents a happy anniversary.

Sridevi was equipped with beauty, grace and talent. The actress has worked in many films in several languages. That is how Boney Kapoor saw her. Boney Kapoor first saw Sridevi in one of Sridevi’s early Tamil Films. Kapoor liked the film so much that later he bought rights of the film for a Hindi remake and he travelled to Chennai to sign Sridevi as the leading lady of the film.
But like any other Bollywood romantic film, their first meeting was not so simple. When he reached Chennai to sign Sridevi for the film, she already left for a shoot in Singapore. He then saw her in 1979 film, ‘Solva Sawan’ and he revealed that Sridevi had some kind of spell on him which is hard to explain.
The producer then decided to sign her for Mr. India. He offered her 11 Lakhs as signing amount. Boney in an interview said, “When I first met her, it was almost like a dream come true”. The film became a huge success and ‘Hawa Hawai’ and ‘Kaate nahi Kat te’ became a sensation all over India. Like any other relationship, they stood with each other in rough times.Boney Kapoor was there with Sridevi and his family at the time of her father’s demise.
Boney Kapoor and Sridevi finally tied the knot in 1996 and were blessed with two children Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor
