In the Bollywood industry, actor Randeep Hooda is renowned for his versatility. His directorial debut was in the newly released film Swatantra Veer Savarkar. For quite some time now, this political biopic has been gaining attention. Following the release of this movie, rumours regarding Randeep Hooda’s political ambitions began to circulate.
According to a number of sources, he may also be cotesting for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. Randeep Hooda expressed his position on the subject and denied these reports a month ago.
He said in an interview, “It’s not the right time to jump into it (politics) and leave my movie career because being half-hearted has never excited me.” Randeep Hooda also stated that politics is as serious a career as a movie maker or an actor. He said that he has been more than sincere and full-hearted about his acting career. Randeep Hooda added that if he ever joins politics, he’ll take it on as a full-time job. “I’m not a person who can do many things at the same time.”
Randeep Hooda had to undergo a significant metamorphosis in order to become Swantantra Veer Savarkar. He disclosed in a different interview that he shed around 32 kg in order to play the part in the movie. He remembered how he used to get hungry on stage. While it is a luxury to starve as an actor, Randeep Hooda said, it is a curse for a filmmaker.
He gave the same explanation, saying, “Because you lose patience. People are having lunch breaks, evening nashta breaks, that break and you’re just a person sitting there hungry. When you’re hungry you have more energy. So that was a very big thing, which I think everybody suffered from me as a hangry person on set.”
Furthermore, Randeep Hooda disclosed that he willingly confined himself to a cell in order to comprehend Savarkar’s jail experience. He said honestly that he was unable to remain there for even twenty minutes.
