The three year journey of Sargun Kaur Luthra in “Yeh Hai Chahatein” is now coming to an end.
Audience will only see Sargun for a short period of time in the show before her track ends as there is a 20-year time jump in the plot. Though few months earlier, the show had a 5-year leap before taking the current 20-year leap. Earlier, Sargun was portraying Dr. Nayantara. Sargun adds that Nayantara’s appearance did not pleased the audience. She quoted, “After seeing me as Dr. Preesha, people could not accept Dr. Nayantara, who did not look as attractive, and as a result, the jump ideally did not work for the masses.”
Therefore, the show’s creators had to come up with a brand new cast of characters. Currently, Sargun is potraying the role of mother of Shagun Sharma, while she is much younger than her. Sargun quoted, “When I was first offered the role on the show, I had to play mother to my sister’s son, but I was okay because I was not playing a real mother at 21. Then, a few months later, I was pretending to be a mother to two kids, even though I was having trouble.”
She further adds, “Although I truly had my doubts about taking on the character of mother to an actor who is a few years my senior, I consented because it would only be for a month and my track would be over. Since I’ve devoted three years to the daily soap, I wanted to give it my all and consented.”
