Late actor Pankaj Dheer, best remembered for his portrayal of Karna in B.R. Chopra’s Mahabharat, belonged to a family deeply rooted in the Indian film industry.
Born on November 9, 1956, in Punjab, Pankaj Dheer was the son of noted film director C.L. Dheer. He is survived by his wife Anita Dheer, son Nikitin Dheer, and sibling Satluj Dheer.
His wife, Anita, is a well-known television and film personality, while his son Nikitin Dheer has made a mark in Bollywood with roles in popular films like Chennai Express, Shershaah, and Housefull 3. The family continues to carry forward Pankaj’s cinematic legacy with pride.
Pankaj Dheer, who stood tall at 1.8 meters, was admired not only for his screen presence but also for his grounded nature and deep passion for acting. Known for his love for horse riding and travelling, he was also fond of the color green and was considered one of the most disciplined and graceful actors of his generation.
