Many Indian celebrities spoke on the ongoing movement in America in the past one week. Actresses stood up for the innocent black man, who was murdered by a police officer in America. Celebrities like Priyanka Chopra, Disha Patani, and Sonam Kapoor got their fans’ attention when they posted stories and told their fans that they shouldn’t judge anyone because of their colour and all colours are same. They urged their fans to support black people in their fight and that could be an appreciatable effort if there wasn’t the same types of advertisements the court banned in 2016, which somehow are still in use.

Disha Patani took to Twitter to say that all colours are equal, she posted a picture in which hand of different colours can be seen together and in middle of them it’s written: “All colours are equal.”

But is that true? When we dig out the advertisements she has done in past, an ad popped up which said, “SPOTLESS FAIRNESS”. Now, if it isn’t being a hypocrite then what is? Here is that advertisement:

Another actress who took to Instagram to post about the incident was Priyanka Chopra. Who posted the last words of George Floid and left a long note which somehow, backfired on her only. She said that we should stop race war and have to educate ourselves.

She wrote that NO-ONE DESERVES TO DIE, JUST BECAUSE OF THEIR SKIN COLOUR. We highlighted this word, and we’ll come back to it, first read her caption. “There is so much work to be done and it needs to starts at an individual level on a global scale. We all have a responsibility to educate ourselves and end this hate. End this race war here in the US, and around the world. Wherever you live, whatever your circumstances, NO ONE deserves to die, especially at the hands of another because of their skin colour. ⁣⁣⁣

On May 25th, George Floyd was pinned down by the neck by a Minneapolis police officer and died. He laid there, fighting for his life, struggling to breathe, and other officers just stood there and watched. The officer has now been charged with murder. George, I am praying for your family”

Now when we go back, we see herself advertising for fair skin and the saying things like “ BREAK THE DARK SPOTS FOR FLAWLESS GLOW”
How much these two statements contradict each other? Isn’t the same actress is establishing the fact that fair skin is better?
