The makers of Ikkis have officially announced that the much-awaited war drama, starring Agastya Nanda, will release in theatres on December 25. The update was shared on Monday along with a powerful new poster featuring veteran actor Dharmendra.

What’s New?

The poster shows Dharmendra in an intense and emotional avatar. He plays the father of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, the heroic 21-year-old soldier who sacrificed his life during the 1971 Indo-Pak war.

Sharing the poster, the team wrote:
“Fathers raise sons. Legends raise nations. Dharmendra ji, an emotional powerhouse as the father of a 21-year-old immortal soldier. One timeless legend brings us the story of another.”

Another post with the release-date reveal added:
“On 25th December, bravery marches into cinemas. Witness the untold true story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra hero. #IkkisTrailerOutNow.”

About the Film

Ikkis is produced by Maddock Films under Dinesh Vijan and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Sriram Raghavan. The screenplay is written by Raghavan along with Arijit Biswas and Pooja Ladha Surti.

Agastya Nanda, who debuted in 2023 with The Archies, plays the decorated soldier Arun Khetarpal. Khetarpal was awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest wartime gallantry honour, posthumously for his bravery in the Battle of Basantar.

The film also stars Jaideep Ahlawat and Sikander Kher in key roles.

With a Christmas release and a strong emotional narrative backed by real history, Ikkis is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated films of the year.
