Shah Rukh Khan, the superstar of Bollywood, has made many promises to his fans over the years, and he has even been able to meet most of them, but there is one promise that he has consistently broken. SRK is a guy of many virtues, but smoking is the one sin he simply cannot kick.
Fans who adore the singer have been pleading with him to stop smoking and take care of his health for many years, and despite the fact that he has previously made a number of birthday and new year pledges in this area, he hasn’t actually been able to keep them.
A few years ago, following the birth of his son AbRam, SRK declared that he had finally decided to stop smoking because his kids had been complaining, but ever since, he has kept a tight lid on this vice. He has also avoided being seen smoking in public in recent years.
However, SRK made the decision to finally allay his followers’ concerns on Monday by responding to them definitively. A Twitter user questioned him during a #AskSRK session on whether he had given up smoking.
In his characteristic way of replying, SRK said, “Yes he lied, surrounded by a thick plume of smoke from his cancer stick!!!”, implying that he hasn’t actually given up smoking.

In the meantime, SRK earlier this year gave Hindi film its biggest hit with “Pathaan.” The movie eventually made more than Rs 1000 crore worldwide, with more than Rs 500 crore only in India.
He is currently preparing for “Jawan,” his second release of the year, which will hit theatres on September 7. It is his first time working with the high-octane action director Atlee from the south. Nayanthara plays a significant role in the movie as well, and Deepika Padukone makes a brief appearance.
