Social media personality Kusha Kapila has been recently garnering a lot of attention due to her divorce and also her link up rumours with Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor post that.
Kusha believes it is ‘difficult’ to alter how others perceive her.
Recently, Kusha Kapila’s private life has made headlines. After six years of marriage, she announced her separation from Zorawar Ahluwalia on June 26 via social media. The outcome was constant trolling and defamation. Kusha was also the subject of a statement from Zorawar supporting her, saying it was shameful to “paint her as some villain.”
A photo from Karan Johar’s party that sparked rumours of a budding romance between Kusha and Arjun Kapoor only served to stoke the flames. The author of the content continued to deny the rumours in an Instagram broadcast message.
In an exclusive interview with News18, Kusha discussed her perspective on the public perception of her life and how she chooses to handle it as she prepares for the release of Sukhee opposite Shilpa Shetty Kundra.
“Making sure that people always say nice things about you means you want to be in control of your narrative and how people feel about you all the time. And that’s impossible because that’s not how life is. As much as you want to be in control of your narrative, it can’t happen, especially if you’re in the public eye,” she stated.
She went on to say “There’s no point bearing the emotional burden and labour of what people think of you or their expectation from you. I don’t want to be that person who at the age of 50 feels like she didn’t live her life, do what she wanted to do and give it her all. That’s not how I want to live.”
Being a “people pleasure,” as Kusha admits she is, frequently has an impact on her. She notes that she strives to be in a Zen state where she is unaffected by anything that people say about her.
She stated, “As a Virgo who’s a compulsive people pleaser and micromanages everything in her life, I feel like I should let go at some point to be able to be happy and present in the moment. I really struggle with being present in the moment because I’m constantly thinking of 5000 different things.”
On the work front, Kusha Kapila will be next seen in Thank You For Coming alongside, Bhumi Pednekar and Shehnaaz Gill.
