Geeta Basra shares her inspiring story of ‘Victory Over Miscarriages’

Former Actress Geeta Basra gave birth to a baby son after facing two miscarriages. Her story gave inspiration to many such women. The actress said that her purpose is served.

Geeta Basra was blessed with a baby boy recently. The actress shared her story of two miscarriages, one in 2019 and the other in 2020. Harbhajan Singh’s wife, Geeta, in an interview with ETimes, spoke about how she maintained her mental and physical health and also gave hope to many such women like her.

Geeta got several responses from women who had miscarriages and they see her story as a ‘hope’. Talking to ETimes, she said, “My purpose is served. I wanted to reach out to women who start getting negative thoughts if and when they have a miscarriage. The idea was to instill faith in them to lead their lives positively pregnancy can be achieved if one remains in the right frame of mind about it and does not get cynical.”

Talking about her miscarriages, she said, “The last two years have been traumatic for me no doubt but I held myself from breaking down. A woman’s hormones after a miscarriage go up and down a lot, which, in turn, makes it extremely difficult for her to maintain her composure. I kept myself strong and did not allow that meltdown to happen.”

Geeta shifted to her in-laws’ house after her second miscarriage. “It is important for a girl to have the right support system around her. Even before I got married, I was sure I wanted to have kids–not one but two. The bond formed between siblings is very strong and the first child always needs company. My daughter Hinaya is 5 years old now; if I had my way she would have been 3 years old when Jovan was born,” she added.

Geeta Basra and Harbhajan Singh gave birth to their first child, Hinaya in 2010. The couple welcomed their second child on July 10. Recently, the actress revealed his name, Jovan Veer Singh Plaha.
