Actress Geeta Basra and Harbhajan Singh were blessed with a baby boy, earlier this month. Announcing the news, the former cricketer took his Instagram handle and shared a post. “We thank the almighty for blessing us with a healthy baby boy. Both Geeta and the baby are doing well. We are overwhelmed with joy and would like to extend our gratitude to all our well-wishes for their constant love and support,” he wrote.
In a recent interview with the ETimes, Geeta Basra talked about embracing motherhood for the second time. She said, “If it would have been a daughter again, I would have got another best friend. It’s a son and now Harbhajan has got a best friend. But yes, I must tell you that I had an intuition that I’ll get a son while I was carrying Hinaya.”
When asked whether they have decided the name of the child, she said “Yes, and Harbhajan and I are going to announce it in a day or two. It’s the name I had thought of when I was carrying Hinaya five years ago.”
Geeta also said that Harbhajan was present in the labour room with her, right from the word ‘Go’, and was constantly clicking pictures. “Harbhajan was taking pictures. He loves kids. He has played a lot with Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar’s kids,” she added.
When asked about their daughter, Hinaya’s reaction to the birth of the child, she said, “She’s constantly looking at her brother as if it’s a toy and has become very responsible. I’m sure Harbhajan would want his son to be a cricketer. Bhajji (as Harbhajan is fondly called) bowled so marvellously for India…”
Geeta and Harbhajan welcomed their daughter, Hinaya in the year 2016. The couple announced the news of her second pregnancy, earlier this year.
