1. Paparazzi Culture feud: Actress Deepika Padukone slammed Bollywood paparazzi for sharing videos of Sushant Singh Rajput’s body being taken to the crematorium ground from the hospital. The actress called out the paparazzi in the comment section of the post, for sharing the video without his family’s consent. This ignited the debate of consent and paparazzi culture in the industry. Actress Kangana Ranaut accused Deepika of being ‘selective’ in her outrage. Kangana further named two other paparazzi and called them Deepika Padukone’s ‘paltu’ (pet) paparazzi.
Adding on to the drama, famous paparazzo Viral Bhayani also joined the conversation through a series of Tweets, which read, “If you call people for your party they turn up for drinks but when the same person dies? This is a mean industry, I have covered so many funerals and it is always a Raza Murad or Ashoke Pandit who come to pay respect @KanganaTeam @deepikapadukone”. He added, “A lot of tv channels and media houses were doing live coverage of the funeral and none of them were following any guidelines but at the end of the days the paps are slammed @deepikapadukone @KanganaTeam.”

Salman’s being human controversy: Director Abhinav Kashyap, who worked in Dabangg with Salman Khan, has taken to the social media website, Facebook, to accuse Salman Khan’s foundation, Being Human of money-laundering. Earlier, Abhinav Kashyap had also hinted that Salman Khan had a hand in destroying late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s career.
The filmmaker’s social media post read, “Seedhi saadi janta ki ankhon mein dhool jhonkkar unse note bator rahein hain yeh dhurt log… Inki mansha kisiko kuch dene ki nahi, sirf lene ki hai. Sarkar ko chahiye ki Being Human ki bhi gehri janch ho…main sarkar ka pura sehyog karunga (today Being Human sells a Rs 500 jeans for Rs 5000. They don’t intend to give anything to anyone, they just want to take.”
Days after these accusations were made online, Salman’s brother Arbaaz Khan revealed that the family has taken a legal action against the director. Arbaaz also said that, “We have filed a complaint with the film association. We would like to go that way, not interested in fighting this any other way… We are doing what we think is the best way to address this.”
3. Bollywood reacts to Fair and lovely’s decision: Bollywood has reacted to the welcoming change brought by Hindustan Unilever to axe out ‘Fair’ in ‘Fair & Lovely’ brand name for something else. Netizens also too took to social media to applaud the decision.
Several Indian celebrities tweeted in support of the movement, actor Abhay Deol was also one of them. Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut’s team wrote on Twitter: “It has been a long and sometimes a very lonely battle but results only happen when the whole nation participates in the movement”.
Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan, who has faced prejudice based on her skin colour, also hailed the move. Shana on her Instagram posted a story endorsing the brand’s announcement. “Hindustan Unilever announced that it would rebrand its skin-lightening cream ‘Fair and Lovely’ and drop the word ‘Fair’ from the product,” she wrote.
