‘Dear Bad Year, Let’s Break Up’. A relationship with 2020 is getting toxic with each passing day. Though a metaphor, 2020 has been the worst year in history so far. While the rest of the country was hit by Covid-19 pandemic, India on the other hand, suffered from destruction, in the form of cyclone, earthquakes, locusts attack, Migrant workers’ plight, road accidents, people starving and dying from hunger; everything contributed in already worse condition. Not only this, it’s shocking to recall that in the past 34 days, we have lost our dearest celebrities. The precious gems of this industry, who contributed through their art, and the world absolutely adored them, took the heavenly abode.
From on-screen to off-screen, many celebrities bid adieu and they left a huge void in our hearts and our eyes well up when we see these stars still so alive in our favorite movies.
1.Irrfan Khan
Irrfan Khan’s demise left the whole world in a state of shock. The most loved celebrity, a fine performer, breathed his last on April 29. He was suffering from neuroendocrine tumor and succumbed to colon infection. He left a void in our hearts and his death feels personal to many.
2. Rishi Kapoor
Popularly known as Chintu, Rishi Kapoor established himself as the finest performer of the industry. His quirky statements, fun-loving attitude, always attracted his followers.Two years back, Rishi Kapoor was diagnosed with leukemia and underwent surgery in New York. The actor breathed his last on 30th April’20.
3. Wajid Khan
We still haven’t recovered from the shock of his untimely death. A composer, singer, music director and duo of Sajid-Wajid, gave superhits to this industry. His upbeat songs, and raw voice, will always be cherished by the fraternity and fans. He was tested positive for Covid-19 and reportedly suffered a heart attack. He was 42.
4. Yogesh Gaur
The personality who penned the most evergreen songs, ‘Kahi Door Jab Din Dhal Jaye’, ‘Zindagi Kaisi Hai Paheli Haye’, took the heavenly abode on 29th May’20. The famous lyricist, song-writer will always be remembered for his soulful songs.
5. Mohit Baghel
Known as ‘Chhote Miyan’, Mohit worked as a comic artist and tickled our funny bones with his comic timings. Whole industry mourned his untimely demise. He was in battle with cancer, and at last Mohit left us with his memories behind.
6. Manmeet Grewal
Telly actor Manmeet Grewal who was known for his world in shows like ‘Kuldeepak’, ‘Aadat se Majbur’, committed suicide in his apartment because of financial concerns amid lockdown and debt trap. He was 32.
7. Sachin Kumar
Sachin Kumar, who was a household name due to his character in the famous show, ‘Kahani Ghar Ghar ki’,passed away because of cardiac arrest.
8. Preksha Mehta
A young joyous girl, Preksha Mehta who was known for her role in Crime Patrol, committed suicide over her concerns related to acting career and financial woes.
9. Sai Gundewar
Sai Gundewar made his presence on screen with movies like PK and Rock on! He took the heavenly abode on 10th May,’20. He was battling with brain cancer and passed away at the age of 42.
10. Shafique Ansari
Telly actor Shafique was known to work in Crime Patrol. He was diagnosed with cancer and succumbed to the disease on 10th May,’20.
11. Bejan Daruwalla
One of India’s most renowned astrologers, Bejan Daruwalla, succumbed to lung infection. He passed away at the age of 89 in Ahmedabad.
12. Abijeet
Shah Rukh Khan’s dearest friend Abhijeet, passed away in May. Shah Rukh paid a heartfelt tribute on social media and remembered how they started the journey of making films together.

Aamir Khan’s longtime assistant Amos lost his life in May after suffering a massive heart attack.
