Despite not having an Indian passport, these Bollywood town celebrities have won over Indian hearts over the years. Alia Bhatt


Did you know that Alia Bhatt, who starred in The Heart of Stone, is not an Indian citizen? Through the virtue of her mother Soni Razdan’s citizenship, she is a citizen of the United Kingdom. For those who have never heard, Soni was born in Small Heath, Birmingham, West Midlands, England, to an Indian Kashmiri Pandit father and a British-German mother, Gertrude Hoelzer.


Jacqueline Fernandez

Jacqueline Fernandez is a citizen of Sri Lanka, having been born to a Malaysian mother and a Sri Lankan father.


Imran Khan

Imran Khan was born in Madison, Wisconsin, to psychologist Nuzhat Khan and software engineer Anil Pal. His mother is a psychologist. He is the nephew of actor Aamir Khan, who is rumoured to be considering a return to Bollywood at the request of his fans. He did, however, move to India with his mother upon his parents’ divorce.


Nargis Fakhri

The Rockstar actress shot to fame after the Imtiaz Ali film was released. Nargis Fakhri was born in Queens, New York City, to a mother of Czech origin and a father of Pakistani descent. He is a citizen of the United States.



Kalki Koechlin

Kalki Koechlin has stated repeatedly that she lacks the time to show off her Indianness. Having been born and raised in a rural village outside of Puducherry to French parents, Joel and Françoise, Kalki claimed that she picked up an American accent to socialise with students from international schools. People often assume that she is a Firang. She is not, however, an Indian citizen. She still identifies as French and holds a French passport.



Katrina Kaif

Similar to Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif is a citizen of the United Kingdom. The Bollywood actress was born into a British Hong Kong family of British citizen and businessman Mohammed Kaif, who is of Kashmiri origin, and British lawyer Suzanne.


Nora Fatehi

As a Moroccan-born Canadian who was raised in Canada, actress and dance star Nora Fatehi is a dual Canadian citizen and passport holder.


Amy Jackson

Amy Jackson, the actor in Singh is Bling, is a British citizen, as she was born in Liverpool, United Kingdom.
