A case has been filed against Rajat Bedi for allegedly hitting a pedestrian while driving his car recklessly. This incident happened in Andheri (East) on Monday evening.

According to DN Nagar Police the time of incident is alluded to be 6:30 pm and the victim, Rajesh Ramsingh Doot, is admitted in Cooper Hospital and is said to be in critical condition.  Rajesh Doot, age 39, a resident of a slum in Andheri (w) has two daughters and wife.

The officer in-charge, when asked, confirmed the case, and shared, “After the accident, Bedi rushed the victim to Cooper hospital and then came to the police station to report the matter.”

“The actor claimed that the pedestrian was drunk and suddenly came in front of the car. We will check CCTV cameras on the stretch and trace witnesses to try and ascertain the sequence of events.”

The victim’s wife Babita Doot told that her husband was drunk and sustained injuries at the back of his head, while the doctor treating him confirmed and said, “His condition is too critical, as he sustained head injuries. He is in the ICU and on oxygen support. He urgently needs blood.”

Rajat is booked under section 279, 338 of the IPC and 184 of the MV act for rash and negligent driving causing grievous hurt, but no arrest has been madeNews18, Spicyonion.com. The punishment for the same is imprisonment up to six months, a penalty of INR 1000, or both.
