Eternals stars Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Gemma Chan and Lauren Ridloff pulled out of the Elle’s 2021 Women in Hollywood gala event last minute on Tuesday due to potential exposure to Corona Virus.

Eternals stars Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Gemma Chan and Lauren Ridloff pulled out of the Elle’s 2021 Women in Hollywood gala event last minute on Tuesday. According to the Hollywood reporter, there was a potential exposure to someone who was texted positive for Covid 19. The respective actresses were to be honoured at the gala but they pulled out due to precautions. A Disney spokesperson mentioned that they were aware of the possible COVID-19 exposure. Howvever the stars of the movie have been tested negative for the same. The spokesperson added, “We are pivoting to virtual appearances rather than in-person events.”

The news was confirmed by Elle EIC Nina Garcia who said that they did skip the event due to necessary precautions. “Those superheroes are now in super isolation,” she said. Before the missed gala, the superstars were seen walking down the red carpet for the premiere of their film on Monday at the El Capitan theatre in Los Angeles.

Elle’s 2021 Women in Hollywood event was held on October 19 at the Dolby Family Terrace at the new Academy Museum on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles. Some of the amazing celebrities honoured at the event were Gal Gadot, Halle Berry, Jodie Comer, Jennifer Hudson, Rita Moreno among others.

Salma Hayek was absent from the event, her good friend and industry collegue Demi Moore gave the speech as she attented the respectiive ceremony.
