Actress Esha Deol confirms separation from husband Bharat Takhtani after 11 years of marriage. Esha, who is a daughter of the veteran actors Dharmendra and Hema Malini, released in a statement that the separation has been ‘amicable’.
A joint statement was issued by the couple which mentions that the divorce has been filed on cordial grounds. The statement in the Delhi Times read, “We have mutually and amicably decided to part ways. Through this shift in our lives, the best interests and welfare of our two children are and will be of utmost importance to us. We’d appreciate our privacy is respected.”
Esha and Bharat got married in the year 2012 and they are parents to daughters- Radhya aged 6 and Miraya, 4.
No one was precisely aware of this sudden decision as last year on their wedding anniversary, Esha dropped a heartfelt post. The actress took to her Instagram account and shared a few adorable snaps on her special day. She captioned the post as, “For keeps for eternity ♥️🧿 @bharattakhtani3 #weddinganniversary #11 gratitude ♥️”
However, the speculations regarding their separations started spiking up when Bharat was missing from his mother-in-law Hema Malini’s birthday party last year.
Esha has also openly talked about her relationship with her husband Bharat and how he felt neglected after they welcomed their second daughter. In her book Amma Mia, Esha shared how she noticed Bharat used to get irritated with her quite often as she didn’t used to spend time with him. The actress stated that it was a difficult time for her as she has the responsibility of two kids on her. It was also when she was writing her book and coping with production meetings.
Esha expressed that she used to completely forget about the things that Bharat had asked her to do. At times, she didn’t use to check if he had even taken his lunch, causing negligence towards him.
Deol and Bharat have confirmed their separation and filed a divorce. They have even issued a joint statement recently. The couple tied the knot in 2012.
