Emma Stone admitted that she would like it if she is called with her real name – Emily.
The La La Land actress revealed that she preferred to be called by her birth name over her stage name during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
“I would like to be Emily,” said the Oscar winning actress while sitting beside her Curse co- star Nathan Fielder.
Emma explained that she originally decided to go by ‘Emma Stone’ because another actress from SAG AFTRA had already taken up the name Emily Stone.
She added, “Then I freaked out a couple of years ago. For some reason, I was like, ‘I can’t do it anymore. Just call me Emily’.”
The actress also shared that the people, who know her and work with her, call her by her given name.
“Nathan calls me Em, which is easier,” said Emma.. sorry Emily.
However, she noted that if she is approached by a fan and called her Emma, she would not correct them.
Several of her fans and netizens applauded the Poor Things star for going back to her real name by writing it on X, formerly known as Twitter, “Good for Emily Stone to ask fans to call her by her real name! Sad that her professional required a real name.”
