Elli AvrRam reveals that she had to live in a room of cockroaches in her initial days in the entertainment industry

With so much unfolding of the ugly side of the entertainment industry, another bitter face came up as Elli AvrRam shared her experience as a foreigner. She told Pinkvilla about her struggles in the initial days. Elli had come form Sweden to make her career in Bollywood.

She shared that as a foreigner and an actress, no one rented her a house and she had to stay stayed in a room of cockroaches and lizards.
She told that she happened to live with a conservative India family in the beginning but left the house after she could no longer adjust with them.
She also revealed about the kind of judgement she had to face being a foreigner actress. From her story it was evident that people from outside need to struggle a lot to find acceptance in this industry.

Recalling her difficult journey, Elli said, “It’s very difficult to rent an apartment here. You’re foreigner; you’re a single girl, and an actress also. It’s like a big ‘No.'” She revealed that she was judged upon her western clothes and had to resort to wearing traditional wear to avoid gaze.

Recounting about her passion to be an actress in Bollywood, she recalled, “It took me three years to move from Sweden to India as my dad was very strict. I used to convince my dad that I want to be a Bollywood actress. I worked at a jewellery store, and saved money to come to India. My dad was impressed by my efforts, and also scared that his daughter was going to a far off different country.”
