Producer Ekta Kapoor along with CEO of Zee5 India, Tarun Katial launched ‘Pavitra Rishta Fund’ to spread mental health awareness. The initiative was launched after a month of the late actor’s death. According to Tarun Katial, the main reason to launch it was to spread awareness and help as many individuals as they can.
After the launch, Sushant Singh Rajput‘s fans took to social media to troll Ekta Kapoor for being insensitive for launching an initiative under the late actor’s name. Hashtag #ShameOnEktaKapoor went on to trend on Twitter after Sushant’s picture was removed from the logo of Pavitra Rishta Fund. Fans even called her out for supporting the depression theory, which was rejected by people close to Sushant. Earlier, it was claimed that the late actor died by suicide and the main reason was depression and mental health issues.
Now, Ekta Kapoor took to her social media to withdraw herself from the campaign after the trolling went too far. In her post, she said, “Even though this is not a fund started by me, but started by Zee and is a needed one at that, I am always with Zee for any other mental awareness fund that they want to do, but on this one I would like to respectfully dissociate myself. #SSR Hope the truth prevails.”
Have a look at her post :
The campaign is in the name of the show, where Sushant was in the lead role. During the time of launching this campaign, Ekta Kapoor said, “Stress levels due to work, friction at home, loss of jobs etc, have contributed to the ongoing issues of deteriorating mental health conditions in many. It is my privilege to be a part of the Pavitra Rishta Fund, and I will always be happy to be a part of such initiatives in the future as well.”
In the recent development of Sushant Singh Rajput’s case, the Supreme Court has pronounced the verdict in favour of CBI probe.
