‘Dunki’ estimated to be Shah Rukh Khan’s lowest budget film in the past 6 years- Report

Shah Rukh Khan is all set to make his grand appearance in Dunki this year. The film is directed by Rajkumar Hirani and will hit the theatres on the 22nd of December. Since its initial announcement, the film has been garnering immense attention from fans globally. With successful films such as ‘Jawan’ and ‘Pathaan’, this will embark as SRK’s third highly anticipated film of the year.

As reported by Pinkvilla, it has been known that the film is estimated to be produced at a budget of Rs 85 crore. However, this amount excludes the fees to cast and crew members such as Vicky Kaushal, SRK, Rajkumar Hirani and Taapsee Pannu. When the other factors are also added to the amount along with the publicity expenses, the cost goes up to Rs 120 crore.

Rajkumar Hirani completed the shoot of the film in just 75 days. SRK had made it to the 60 days of all. Hirani synced the shooting schedule with that of Jawan so that Khan could participate without an extra workload.

Dunki is also said to be the lowest-budget film of Shah Rukh in the last 6 years, ever since Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.

Dunki has already entered into a profitable margin with its fruitful non-theatrical rights. The pre-sale of these rights has generated profit for the makers, which is reported to be Rs 100 crore. Looking at SRK’s past success trajectory Dunki surely seems promising.
